Texas District Black Ministry Unit Black Family Convocation
The Texas District Black Ministry Unit is dedicated to the continued support of the ministry of African_American Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod churches in Texas. As part of that continued ministry, we are proud to be sponsoring the Texas District Black Family Convocation.
This year's theme: "Where Do WE Go From Here," is designed to create the questions that we hope to find answers for. In this age of declining church membership in general, and declining African-American membership in particular, we need to try to find out where we need to go to bring back our congregations.
Our guest speaker is Pastor Byron "Ray" Williams, from New Orleans. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, and the willingness to share it with our attendess.
Our schedule will include large group sessions, as well as breakout sessions designed around not only different age groups, but different topic bases as well.
